hi, i just came accross this discussion here.
Mr Nish, this might be aiming directly to acquire your help.
I am currently running an Acer Aspire 3682WXMi.
It actually does have a bison cam.
In the registry machine i see in the list the same entry name: cam5603d.
Now, this computer originally came with vista, but due to my irreparable hatred against vista, i "downgraded" to XP Pro. I managed to find all the compatible drivers to get the hardware running. I found the drivers for the cam too; but strangely enough, it is giving me the hardest of times.
Long story short;
It works for a couple of hours since the fresh install of windows and cam thereof. Then, the image becomes fuzzy, blurred through some ugly cross lines and ends up to show only pink. When exposed to strong lumination, i can still see some degree of image through this thick pink curtain; but the sum of it is, yeah, the cam isn't working.
I even tried to apply the settings you've just posted here... i can see a better image now, but it s still a very bad image, still very pink, and a very faded one.
This time the image is pushed to the left hand of the frame and on the right hand you can see an inch thick of what appears to be a vertical black line.
I have tried with the settings... everytime by restarting and all the stuff... but i'm having no success.
Could you please help me out here?

Hello everyone,

is anyone still using the registry change file all the way up? (I recently did, cause i didnt scroll down to find Asus has provided a working driver in the meanwhile.) However, the initial solution by Nish worked to get the cam going on my Asus A7Vc but the options "low light mode" and "camera status led indicator" were not showing in the driver settings window. First one is very handy cause i use may cam a lot in the evenings; the second one is of less importance cause the cam has no led light anyways. However, I made the following change to the reg. update file and now they're both available.

"PropShowItem"=dword:00000000

should be

"PropShowItem"=dword:0000000f

succes everyone!
