Today, I got an email from Microsoft about Windows Vista Product Red. I think it’s an excellent marketing technique to raise funds for AIDS in Africa…
Windows and Dell have joined (RED) to help eliminate AIDS in Africa. When you buy a Dell (PRODUCT) RED PC with Windows Vista Ultimate (PRODUCT) RED, Windows and Dell will jointly contribute $50 to $80, depending on the product, to The Global Fund. With Windows Vista Ultimate (PRODUCT) RED, these aren’t just the ultimate PCs, they’re a powerful way to improve lives.
Even though it is a blatant marketing technique for Both Microsoft and Dell to make money, I think when you consider $50 – $80 being given to the charity; it is better to buy a Dell PC then another brand…
But it’s the consumer’s choice! I would rather build my own pc and give £20 to charity than buy a Dell PC… that is my personal preference…
