I have finally managed to build my new Workstation and it’s about a month old now…
Building process was rather long and tedious because I had to wait for the new Intel Wolfdale Core CPU to arrive and that took about 3 weeks being on queue…
After I got all the parts, I had another issue which was my Motherboard Bios not supporting the CPU so I had to flash it with the updated Bios…
I have finally put everything together and the Box runs like a dream…
Here are some pictures and the specifications…
- Antec 900 – Nine Hundred Ultimate Gamer Case with 200m Top Fan
- 620W Coolermaster Real Power M620 Modular PSU SLi, PCI-E, SATA, 80%+ Eff’ ATX 12V V2.3 EPS 12V V2.91
- Gigabyte GA-P35T-DQ6, iP35 Express, S 775, PCI-E (x16), DDR3 1066/800/1333, SATA II, SATA RAID, ATX
- Intel Core 2 Duo, E8400, Wolfdale Core, S775, 3.0 GHz, 1333MHz, 6MB Cache
- 2GB (2×1GB) DDR3 (1333MHz), 240 Pin, Non-ECC, Unbuffered, CAS 8-8-8-18
- 512MB Sapphire HD2600PRO PCI-E(x16) 128Bit 1000MHz GDDR2, GPU 600MHz CrossFire 2xDVI-I/HDTV Retail
- 300 GB SATA II HDD
Since this board supports up to 8 SATA II Drivers, I will be raiding 4 maybe 6 Western Digital Raptors (10000 RPM) and Stripping them in the near future…
I am just worried about the noise level of 60 000 RPM Drives, plus the workstation is really fast now… Imagine a drive upgrade
I am also planning to put in another 512MB Sapphire in there as well…
